Bowling Green Rolls Past Michigan

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Bowling Green topped Michigan in conference action while Notre Dame fell to Minnesota in non-conference play.
Ann Arbor, Mich. – Bowling Green junior forward Bryce Williamson found the back of the net twice, helping the Falcons to a 5-1 win over Michigan and extending their unbeaten streak to four games (3-0-1). Sophomore forward Ryan Carpenter notched a 1-1-2 scoring line for Bowling Green, while senior forward Marc Rodriguez and sophomore forward Adam Berkle also scored. The lone goal for the Wolverines came from junior forward Luke Moffatt, his first tally of the season. Senior goaltender Andrew Hammond made 19 saves in the win for the Falcons. For Michigan, junior goaltender Adam Janecyk and freshman goaltender Steve Racine combined to make 27 saves.
Minneapolis, Minn. – Notre Dame fell to top-ranked Minnesota, 4-1, snapping their six-game winning streak. Minnesota took a two-goal lead early in the first period before junior forward Jeff Costello notched the lone goal for the Irish. The Gophers extended their lead back to two goals in the second period and sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with 15 seconds left in the game. Notre Dame junior goaltender Steven Summerhays made 22 saves in the loss.
