CCHA announces 2011-12 TV Schedule

Contests on FOX Sports Detroit, Comcast Television, CBS Sports Network and Big Ten Network
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Central Collegiate Hockey Association, entering its 41st season of college hockey, has announced the release of its FOX Sports Detroit (FSD), Comcast Television, CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) and Big Ten Network (BTN) schedules for the 2011-12 season that will feature all 11 conference teams in action. Altogether, 43 games involving CCHA teams will be televised, including 40 conference regular-season and playoff contests.
FOX Sports Detroit celebrates its 15th season of televising CCHA hockey during the 2011-12 campaign with a slate of 12 regular-season games including The Frozen Diamond Faceoff between Ohio State and Michigan to be held outdoors at Progressive Field in Cleveland, home of baseball’s Cleveland Indians, on Jan. 15, 2012. The FSD lineup also includes a campus-site playoff contest and all the drama from the CCHA Championship at Joe Louis Arena on March 16-17. The network’s first game on Nov. 4 will feature Western Michigan traveling to Michigan, followed by a Nov. 19 matchup between Northern Michigan and Michigan State at the Berry Events Center in Marquette, Mich.
Nine of the CCHA’s 11 teams will appear in regular-season action on FOX Sports Detroit, including four during the seventh annual ‘Hockey Day in Michigan’ on Sat, Feb. 18. Northern Michigan will visit Michigan in the first game at 5:05 p.m., followed by Alaska at Michigan State at 8:05 p.m.
FOX Sports Detroit’s coverage of the CCHA goes to more than 3.2 million cable and satellite households throughout Michigan and portions of Northwest Ohio and Northern Indiana. For the second consecutive season, all of FSD’s college hockey programming will be presented in high-definition.
Ken Daniels, Dan Dickerson and Matt Shepard will all handle play-by-play duties on FOX Sports Detroit’s CCHA coverage, while Darren Eliot will serve as analyst and Shannon Hogan as rinkside reporter.
Fifteen conference games, including a CCHA Tournament second-round contest, will be shown as part of Comcast Television’s weekly CCHA package. Comcast drops the puck on the new season by televising Ohio State’s trip to Notre Dame on Oct. 15. Nine CCHA members will appear on Comcast at least once and telecasts will originate from the home venues of six schools: Bowling Green,Ferris State,Michigan,Michigan State, Notre Dameand Western Michigan.
Comcast Television is offered on Comcast’s Digital Limited Basic Tier Channel 900, to about 1.1 million customers in the state of Michigan.
CBS Sports Network has committed to an eight-game package, including four games at Notre Dame and a pair of contests from the home venue of Miami while also visiting Michigan and Western Michigan. The CBSSN schedule faces off on Nov. 18 when the Fighting Irish entertain Boston College of Hockey East in the new Compton Family Ice Center at Notre Dame.
CBS Sports Network is available across the country via local cable and video providers and nationally on DISH NETWORK (Channel 152) and DIRECTV (Channel 613).
The Big Ten Network (BTN) is set to air four contests involving CCHA teams, beginning on Dec. 10 when Michigan visits Michigan State.
BTN is available to an estimated 80 million households in all 50 states and Canada, including on DISH NETWORK (Channel 439) and DIRECTV (Channel 610).
