Alaska-
The Nanooks are 4-0 in CCHA shootouts this season and, with Saturday’s shootout decision following a 3-3 tie at Michigan, have gained points in all nine conference series they have played.
 
Bowling Green-Friday’s 6-0 shutout loss at Northern Michigan marked the first time the Falcons had been blanked since Feb. 3 of last year when they were also victimized by the Wildcats, 3-0.
 
Ferris State- The Bulldogs’ school-record 12- game conference unbeaten streak was snapped with Friday’s home-ice loss to Miami, 4-0. The streak started on Nov. 6 with a victory over Bowling Green, 5-1, at Ewigleben Ice Arena.
 
Lake Superior- Junior forward Rick Schofield scored the winning goal with 1:30 to play in Friday’s victory over Nebraska-Omaha, 2-1, and scored at 3:43 of overtime on Saturday to give the Lakers the win over the Mavericks, 5-4. 
 
Miami- Sophomore Cody Reichard registered his fourth shutout of the season on Friday, 4-0, at Ferris State to tie the RedHawks single-season record. David Burleigh also blanked four opponents in 2002-03. Overall, Miami has posted a school-record six whitewashes this season.
 
Michigan-The Wolverines are unbeaten in five games (4-0-1), including a 3-0-1-0 mark in CCHA play. They have averaged 4.8 goals-per game during the stretch, while allowing 2.0 gpg. U-M has moved from 10th place to sixth place in the league standings over the last two weekends.
 
Michigan State-Junior forward Corey Tropp assisted on three of the Spartans’ regulation-time goals in Saturday’s 4-4 tie/shootout win against Notre Dame. The Buffalo Sabres’ 2007 draft choice leads the conference in points (35) and goals (17), and ranks second in assists (18).
 
Nebraska-Omaha- The Mavericks broke a string of seven straight games with two goals or fewer when they registered four goals in Saturday’s overtime loss at Lake Superior, 5-4. They are 1-1-5 in extra-session games this season.
 
Northern Michigan- The ‘Cats went 6-for-14 (42.9%) on the power play in a win and shootout victory against visiting Bowling Green. The power play clicked four times in Friday’s win, 6-0, for the most man-advantage markers since Nov. 17, 2006 against Western Michigan.
 
Notre Dame- Senior forward Ryan Thang became the all-time leader in game-winning goals for the Irish with the 14th of his career in Friday’s victory over Michigan State, 5-2. His three power-play goals on the weekend moved him into fifth on the school’s all-time list with 27.
 
Ohio State- The Buckeyes, who travel to Michigan State this weekend, defeated the U.S. NTDP Under-18 Team, 6-3, in exhibition action. Thirteen players found the scoresheet paced by sophomore forward Zac Dalpe’s 2-1-3 scoring line.
 
Western Michigan- Coming off a bye week, the Broncos get set to play four straight road games for the only time this season. The stretch starts this coming weekend at Bowling Green and continues in Ohio on Jan. 29-30 with a pair of games at Miami.
 
CCHA- Four former CCHA players will suit up in the AHL All-Star Classic tomorrow night in Portland, Maine. Jon Matsumoto (Adirondack/Bowling Green) and Tyler Eckford (Lowell/Alaska) are members of the Canadian AHL All-Stars wilth Christian Hanson (Toronto/Notre Dame) and T.J. Hensick (Lake Erie/Michigan) representing the PlanetUSA AHL All-Stars.
