Alaska - Senior forward Andy Taranto became the 18th player in Nanooks’ history to record 100 career points when he scored Alaska’s first goal in Friday’s 5-2 loss against Miami. He has 49 goals and 51 assists in 125 career games.
Bowling Green - Sophomore forwards Ryan Carpenter (4-5-9), Adam Berkle (2-6-8), Dan DeSalvo (1-7-8) and Dajon Mingo (2-5-7) are the Falcons top four scorers this season, accounting for 32 of Bowling Green’s 62 points (52 percent).
Ferris State - The Bulldogs eight goals last weekend against Michigan were scored by seven different players. Senior forward Kyle Bonis was the lone player to notch two goals with the final two in Saturday’s 3-3 tie with the Wolverines.
Lake Superior - The Lakers were swept for the first time this season, losing at Notre Dame, 3-2 and 6-1. The last time Lake Superior was swept on the road was at Western Michigan in the second round of last season’s CCHA playoffs.
Miami - After their first conference sweep, and second overall, of the season last weekend at Alaska, the RedHawks are riding a season-long seven-game unbeaten streak (5-0-2), outscoring the opposition 24-10 during that stretch.
Michigan - Senior forward A.J. Treais scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season in Saturday’s 3-3 tie/shootout win at Ferris State, tying him for a share of first place in the league and third place nationally.
Michigan State - Senior forward Chris Forfar’s first-period goal in Saturday’s 3-1 loss against Ohio State halted a Spartans’ scoreless streak that reached 165:27 – dating back to Nov. 16 at Miami.
Northern Michigan- Junior goaltender Jared Coreau made 37 saves in a 1-0 loss at Western Michigan on Saturday, the third consecutive game and ninth time this season he has stopped over 30 shots.
Notre Dame - After opening the season with three straight losses in the opening game of a home series wearing white jerseys, the Irish wore their gold home jerseys on Friday and took a 3-2 win over Lake Superior.
Ohio State - Sophomore forward Ryan Dzingel is on a seven-game point streak (4-6-10). He scored the game winner on Friday and then had two assists Saturday, his fifth career two-assist outing and his second this season.
Western Michigan - Sophomore goaltender Frank Slubowski earned his fifth career shutout in a 1-0 win over Northern Michigan on Saturday to tie Marc Magliarditi for second-most shutouts all-time in Broncos’ history. Riley Gill holds the all-time record with seven.
CCHA Celebrate the Legacy - On December 4, 1971, St. Louis freshman forward Charlie Labelle scored the first shorthanded goal in CCHA play in the Billikens’ 6-3 loss at Ohio State.
