Alaska - Friday’s 4-1 loss at Miami snapped the Nanooks’ six-game winning streak and seven-game unbeaten streak. Saturday’s loss marked the second time this season that Alaska was swept, both suffered at the hands of the RedHawks.

Bowling Green- The Falcons’ weekend sweep of the Lakers is their first conference sweep since Nov. 15-16, 2008 when Bowling Green defeated Northern Michigan in back-to-back games at BGSU Ice Arena.

Ferris State - Senior forward Matt Kirzinger scored his first goal of the season in Saturday’s 2-2 tie/shootout win against Western Michigan. It came in his fourth game back after missing all of the Bulldogs’ previous contests this season due to injury.

Lake Superior - The Lakers head into a bye week on a four-game losing streak, their longest of the season and longest since November, 2010. Lake Superior is 3-11-1 on the road this season after dropping four straight road decisions.

Miami - The RedHawks swept Alaska and are riding a season-long, five-game winning streak, their longest streak since winning eight straight from Feb. 10-March 10 of last season.

Michigan - After winning only one game during the entire month of January, the Wolverines earned their first sweep of the season with two wins over Michigan State.

Michigan State - Senior forward Chris Forfar’s short-handed goal in Saturday’s loss to Michigan was Michigan State’s first since last February – when Forfar netted a short-handed tally at Notre Dame.

Northern Michigan - After a bye week, the Wildcats take on Ferris State for the first time this season. Saturday’s game at Berry Events Center will feature the ‘Pink Wave’ with proceeds benefitting Cancer Care of Marquette County.

Notre Dame - The Irish host Michigan this weekend. The Wolverines are Notre Dame’s oldest rival as the two teams first met in the 1921-22 season and have played each other 132 times overall. Michigan leads the all-time series, 74-53-5.

Ohio State - Sophomore forward Tanner Fritz extended his scoring streak to eight games (2-7-9) with an assist in each game against the Irish. He is second on the team with 22 points and ranks first with 17 assists.

Western Michigan - Freshman forward Colton Hargrove netted his sixth goal of the season on Friday and had an assist on Saturday. He now has seven points (6-1-7) in 10 games so far in 2013 after going scoreless in 12 games in 2012.

CCHA Celebrate the Legacy - On Feb. 7, 1986, Michigan State’s Mike Donnelly scored his 38th goal to break the CCHA record for goals in a season, which was held by Ohio State’s Andy Browne (37 in 1982-83).
