Alaska - After two victories over Northern Michigan, the Nanooks have won six straight CCHA games and completed their third consecutive conference series sweep for the first time in program history.

Bowling Green - Sophomore forward Ryan Carpenter’s assist on Saturday extended his point streak to 10 games. The last Falcon to record a point in 10 consecutive games was Alex Foster in the 2005-06 season, when he registered a point in 11 straight games.

Ferris State - Senior forward Matt Kirzinger saw his first action of the 2012-13 season last weekend at Notre Dame and finished with an assist for his first point of the year in Saturday’s 5-2 loss to the Irish.

Lake Superior - The Lakers were swept for only the second time this season with 3-2 and 6-1 road losses at Ohio State. Lake Superior was also swept at Notre Dame on Nov. 30-Dec. 1.

Miami - The RedHawks swept Bowling Green and are riding a three-game winning streak. The sweep was Miami’s second sweep in CCHA action this year, also sweeping Alaska Nov. 30-Dec. 1 on the road.

Michigan - Sophomore forward Alex Guptill scored a goal in Friday’s 3-2 loss at Western Michigan, but his five-game point streak (3-3-6) came to an end on Saturday in a 5-1 loss to the Broncos.

Michigan State - Freshman goaltender Jake Hildebrand made a career-best 47 saves in Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Penn State. He has made 28 saves or more in 13 of his 17 starts.

Northern Michigan - The Wildcats were swept at Alaska for the second time in the 48-game all-time series. The last time the Nanooks swept Northern Michigan was Jan. 16-17, 2004.

Notre Dame - The Irish’s 5-2 win over Ferris State on Saturday snapped a five-game losing streak that started on Jan. 12. The streak was the longest since a five-game streak last season and are the two longest losing streaks of coach Jeff Jackson’s eight seasons with the Irish.

Ohio State - The Buckeyes swept Lake Superior, 3-2 and 6-1, the team’s third sweep of the season and first since Nov. 30-Dec. 1 at Michigan State. The nine goals scored by Ohio State in the series was a season high and most in back-to-back games this year.

Western Michigan - The Broncos swept Michigan for the first time since Feb. 21-22, 1986. Western Michigan swept that home-and-home series against the Wolverines with a 6-5 win in Ann Arbor and a 6-4 win in Kalamazoo.

CCHA Celebrate the Legacy - On Jan. 29, 2005, Miami head coach Enrico Blasi became the second coach in Miami hockey history to win 100 or more games with a 5-3 win at Ferris State. Blasi recorded his 300th career victory on Friday in the RedHawks’ 2-1 win over Bowling Green.
