Michigan State - The Spartans’ five-goal victory on Saturday was their largest victory margin against the Wolverines since an 11-4 win on Dec. 10, 1989. The seven goals were the most this season for MSU and the first time it scored that many since a win over Miami on Jan. 21, 2011.
Northern Michigan - Senior forward Matt Thurber continues to lead the nation in assists, adding his 11th of the season on Saturday on junior forward Stephan Vigier’s power-play tally. He is fourth in the CCHA in overall points (1-11-12).
