FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - The Central Collegiate Hockey Association will continue to use shootouts and a three-point system in league play, as determined by a vote at the CCHA Council Meeting in Dearborn, Mich., Aug. 16-17.

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Forward Kyle Palmieri, a first –round draft pick who played at Notre Dame as a freshman in 2009-10, has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks.

Michigan State junior forward Corey Tropp, the Spartans leading scorer and team MVP in 2009-10, has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Buffalo Sabres.

LOS ANGELES – Ten players that either played in the CCHA this past season or have signed a National Letter of Intent were selected on the second day of the 2010 NHL Draft in Los Angeles.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Forwards Chris Brown and Kevin Lynch of Michigan and Kyle Palmieri of Notre Dame have been named to the 2010 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp Roster. In addition, incoming freshman defensemen Jon Merrill (Michigan), Jarred Tinordi (Notre Dame), and Stephen Johns (Notre Dame), and forward Bryan Rust (Notre Dame) were also named to the 44-player roster.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan ice hockey head coach Gordon "Red" Berenson has accepted a three-year contract offer from athletic director Dave Brandon to direct the Michigan program through the 2012-13 season. Berenson, who played for Michigan from 1960-62, has been the head coach at his alma mater for the past 26 seasons
