Four Players Make 2013 U.S. National Junior Team Roster

Farmington Hills, Mich. - Four CCHA players, Miami freshman forwards Riley Barber and Sean Kuraly, Michigan freshman defenseman Jacob Trouba and Notre Dame freshman forward Mario Lucia, have been named to the roster of the U.S. National Junior Team that will compete at the 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, Dec. 26, 2012 - Jan. 5, 2013, in Ufa, Russia.
Trouba, one of three returning players from the 2012 U.S. National Junior Team, was named one of four alternate captains of the 2013 squad.
In addition, Ohio State University head coach Mark Osiecki is an assistant coach of the 2013 U.S. National Junior Team. Phil Housley, head coach at Stillwater (Minn.) High School, is the head coach of the team and additional assistant coaches include Grant Potulny, assistant coach at the University of Minnesota, and David Lassonde, assistant coach at the University of Denver.
The U.S. National Junior Team concluded its pre-tournament training in Helsinki, Finland, where it played two pre-tournament games. The U.S. beat Sweden in overtime, 3-2, Dec. 20 and lost to Finland, 5-1, on Dec. 22.
Team USA flies to Ufa, Russia on Dec. 23 to prepare for their first game at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship on Thursday, Dec. 27, vs. Germany. Game time is 8 p.m. local time (9 a.m. ET) with NHL Network (DirectTV 215, Dish 403) broadcasting live and NHL.com streaming live.
