Hockey Heads Back to the Road for Series with Western Michigan

After a short two-game homestand, Miami returns to the road for the next four contests, beginning Friday night at Western Michigan. The games are part of a string of eight of 10 away from Oxford. Faceoff both nights takes place at 7:35 p.m. in Lawson Arena.

Following a pair of ties with CCHA upstart Ferris State, Miami kept its hold onto the No. 1 ranking in all three major polls for the sixth straight week on Monday. The RedHawks sit atop USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Top 15 for the seventh straight week, while headlining the USCHO.com Top 20 and Inside College Hockey Ratings for the sixth consecutive week.


No. 1 Miami Hockey Plays to Second Straight Tie With Ferris State

For the second straight night, No. 1 Miami and Ferris State skated to a tie, this time 1-1, with the Bulldogs earning an extra point in the CCHA standings via a shootout at Steve Cady Arena. The difference Saturday was a marathon one-on-one exhibition that lasted a league-record 11 rounds before FSU's Chad Billings converted his attempt.


No. 1 Miami Skates to 2-2 Tie With Ferris State

No. 1 Miami hockey played Ferris State to a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation, but were defeated 1-0 in an overtime shootout Friday night at the Steve Cady Arena at the Goggin Ice Center. Miami moves to 8-1-2 (5-1-1-0 CCHA) while Ferris State's record now stands at 7-3-1, 2-2-1-1 CCHA.


RedHawk Hockey Signs Five to National Letters-of-Intent

The Miami Ice Hockey program signed five players to national letters of intent on Wednesday, including four from the junior ranks, head coach Enrico Blasi announced today. Three of the players are currently on the roster of the Indiana Ice of the USHL, while a fourth competes in the same league for the Tri-City Storm. The final signee is a senior in high school.


No. 1 RedHawks Return Home to Face Ferris State

Miami takes a brief respite from the road this weekend when it welcomes Ferrris State to Steve Cady Arena. The RedHawks have been away for the last two weekends, then face two more travel weekends after this. Face off with the Bulldogs takes place at 7:35 Friday and 7:05 on Saturday. Both games will be televised on ONN.


Reichard Named National Player of the Week by Inside College Hockey

Miami's Cody Reichard has been named National Player of the Week by Inside College Hockey, the website announced today. Reichard earned CCHA Goaltender of the Week honors yesterday.

Senior Jarod Palmer and sophomore Cody Reichard were named weekly awardwinners by the Central Collegiate Hockey Association following a sweep of Michigan, the league office announced Monday. Palmer took home the Player of the Week Award, while Reichard was tabbed as Goaltender of the Week.
