ND and MSU tie, 1-1, ND wins shootout

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – After skating to a tie in regulation, 1-1, Notre Dame topped Michigan State in a four-round shootout, 2-1, to claim two points in CCHA play.
 
At East Lansing, Mich., senior forward Dan Kissel’s highlight-reel goal in the fourth round of a shootout gave Notre Dame a shootout win, 2-1, and two points in the CCHA standings after playing to a tie with Michigan State, 1-1. Freshman forward Kyle Palmieri opened the scoring with a goal in the second period to put the Fighting Irish up one. Michigan State freshman forward Derek Grant tied the score at one with a tally for the Spartans in the third period.
