Bulldogs End Mavericks' Season In Overtime, 3-2

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Ferris State Bulldogs scored just 23 seconds into overtime to beat the UNO hockey team, 3-2 and sweep their best-of-three playoff series, 2-0. With the loss the Mavericks’ season comes to an end at 20-16-6.

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO hockey team begins its second round CCHA Playoff series at Ferris State University tonight at 6:05 p.m. at Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Mich. The winner of the best-of-three series will advance to Joe Louis Arena in Detroit for the CCHA Semifinals. UNO freshman Terry Broadhurst has been a key weapon in the Mavericks' arsenal as they look to return to "The Joe" for the first time in five years.


DelGrosso Named To All-CCHA First Team

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – UNO senior defenseman Eddie DelGrosso was name to the All-CCHA First Team today. He’s the first Maverick to be named to the first team since Scott Parse earned the honor during the 2006-07 season.

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO hockey team will be in Big Rapids, Mich. this weeked for a best-of-three CCHA second round playoff series with the Ferris State Bulldogs. The two teams square off on Friday and Saturday, March 12 and 13 at Ewigleben Ice Arena. Both games start at 6:05 p.m. CT. If game three is necessary, they'll play Sunday, March 14 at 6:05 p.m. CT. At stake is a trip to Joe Louis Arena in Detroit for the CCHA semifinals.


Agosta Named To CCHA Scholar-Athlete Team

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – UNO senior forward Jeric Agosta is one of 12 outstanding student-athletes designated as their team’s 2009-10 Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The CCHA Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be chosen from the group of nominees with the winner announced at the 2010 CCHA Awards, presented by RBC Financial Group, on Thursday, March 18.


Broadhurst Named To CCHA All-Rookie Team

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - UNO freshman forward Terry Broadhurst has been named to the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's All-Rookie Team. The announcement was made today. He's the first Maverick to earn the honor since teammate Eddie DelGrosso made the team following the 2006-07 season.

OMAHA, Neb. – Eddie DelGrosso had a three-point night and became UNO’s all-time leading defenseman scorer as the Mavericks beat the Bowling Green Falcons 6-1 to sweep their best-of-three, first round CCHA playoff series, 2-0. The Mavericks won by the identical score in game one on Friday night.

OMAHA, Neb. – The UNO Mavericks erupted for four goals in the second period and raced to a 6-1 win over Bowling Green in game one of their best-of-three, first round CCHA Playoff series. Joey Martin, Terry Broadhurst and Alex Hudson each had a goal and an assist.


Mavericks Battle Falcons in CCHA Playoffs Tonight

OMAHA, Neb. - Playoff hockey returns to Omaha as the #20 UNO Mavericks host the Bowling Green Falcons in a first round, best-of-three Central Collegiate Hockey Association series. The two teams begin hostilities tonight at Qwest Center Omaha. Game time is 7:35 p.m. They will play again on Saturday, March 6 at 7:05 p.m. Dollar beer and hot dog specials are being offered on Saturday from 6 - 7 p.m. in the Bud Zone. If game three is necessary, the Mavs and Falcons will play on Sunday, March 7 at 7:05 p.m.
