Broadhurst Named CCHA Rookie of the Week

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - UNO freshman Terry Broadhurst has been named the CCM Rookie of the Week by the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. Broadhurst scored four goals and added an assist as the Mavericks tied and beat Ohio State in a pair of games in Omaha last weekend.


Hockey Game Times Set For Michigan Series

OMAHA, Neb. - The University of Nebraska at Omaha has adjusted the time of its hockey game against the University of Michigan on Friday, Feb. 12. The game will face-off at 7:05 p.m. CT at Qwest Center Omaha. The adjustment has been made to accommodate CBS College Sports which will broadcast both games of the weekend series live nationwide.


Mavericks Storm Back To Best Buckeyes, 4-3

OMAHA, Neb. – The UNO Mavericks played comeback kids for the second night in a row, erasing two two-goal deficits to earn a 4-3 win over Ohio State on Saturday night at Qwest Center Omaha. Jeric Agosta scored the game-winning goal midway through the third period as the Mavs earned five of six points from the Buckeyes in the weekend series.


Record Crowd Sees Mavericks Earn Shootout Win

OMAHA, Neb. – A record-setting crowd at Qwest Center Omaha saw UNO skate to a 5-5 tie with Ohio State before the Mavericks won a seven-round shootout, 3-2. Freshman Terry Broadhurst scored a natural hat trick, and Matt Ambroz had a four-point night to propel UNO offense.

OMAHA, Neb. - Fewer than 1,100 tickets remain in the UNO hockey team's bid to Sell Out Ohio State, the first sell out of Qwest Center Omaha in school history, on Friday, Feb. 5. The Mavericks begin a two-game home series with the Ohio State Buckeyes tonight at 7:35 p.m. The teams will play again on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the Sapp Fieldhouse box office and Qwest Center box office throughout Friday.


"Sell Out Ohio State" Enters Final Week

OMAHA, Neb. – The University of Nebraska at Omaha has already sold 13,500 tickets and this week is making its final push to achieve its goal to “Sell Out Ohio State”, presented by Cox Communications, on Friday, Feb. 5. Only 2,500 tickets remain for the UNO hockey team’s game with Ohio State on that date. Game time is 7:35 p.m.


Mavericks Comeback Falls Short at Notre Dame, 3-2

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – UNO scored two third-period goals but fell short in its comeback bid, losing 3-2 to Notre Dame on Saturday night at the Joyce Center. Terry Broadhurst and Rich Purslow scored goals in the final six minutes of the third period but the Mavericks could not net the equalizer and got a split of the two-game series.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The UNO hockey team earned its first win at Notre Dame in five years, beating the Fighting Irish 5-3 on Friday night at the Joyce Center. Jeric Agosta had two goals and assist as the Mavericks won their third straight game.

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO hockey team begins a two-game series against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish tonight at 7:05 p.m. CT at the Joyce Center in South Bend, Ind. The game can be seen live on CBS College Sports. The Mavericks begin the week with a record of 12-11-5 overall and 8-10-2-1 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. The two teams play again on Saturday night with the game also on CBS College Sports.


Purslow, Richardson Nab CCHA Player of the Week Honors

OMAHA, Neb. – The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced today that UNO junior forward Rich Purslow has been named the league’s offensive player of the week for the week ending Jan. 24. In addition, UNO freshman forward Brandon Richardson was named the CCM Rookie of the Week. The Mavericks are coming off a pair of wins against Northern Michigan at home last weekend.
