otre Dame returns from the frozen tundra of Alaska to start a three-game homestand this weekend as the Irish play host to the Bowling Green Falcons on Feb. 3-4 at the Compton Family Ice Arena. Game time on Friday and Saturday is set for 7:05 p.m. Notre Dame enters the month of February with eight games remaining on the regular-season schedule - five at home and three on the road. The Irish are coming off a weekend split in Fairbanks, Alaska where temperatures dipped as low as -52 last weekend. They dropped the series opener, 6-3, and then won the second game, 4-2. Notre Dame faces Bowling Green with an overall record of 15-10-3 and is currently 10-7-3-0 in the CCHA, good for 33 points and sixth place in the league standings.

Game time each night at the Carlson Center is set for 7:05 p.m. (AT) - 11:05 p.m. in Michiana. Both teams are coming off splits last weekend as the Irish split a series with Michigan at home, winning, 3-1, and then dropping a 2-1 decision. The Nanooks split a pair with Bowling Green at home, losing, 3-1, on Friday before bouncing back with a 4-1 win on Saturday. Notre Dame enters the weekend series with a 14-9-3 overall record and is 9-6-3-0 in the CCHA, good for 30 points and a share of sixth place in the conference, just three points out of second and five behind first-place Ohio State with two games in hand.

The Notre Dame hockey team will get a chance to return to its hockey roots on Monday, Jan. 16th when the Irish move practice from the Compton Family Ice Arena to "Practice On The Pond" at Merrifield Park in Mishawaka, Ind. The event starts at 4:00 p.m. with Irish hitting the ice at 4:30 p.m. and practice will run until 6:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
