Notre Dame sophomore center Riley ;Sheahan (St. Catharine's, Ont.) is among a group of 41 hockey players selected by Hockey Canada to attend Canada's National Junior Team Development Camp this coming August in St. John's, Newfoundland. All participating players are candidates for the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Championship, Dec. 26, 2010 to Jan. 5, 2011, in Buffalo, New York.

Four members of the 2010-11 Notre Dame hockey team are among a group of 44 hockey players that have been invited to attend the 2010 U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp that will be held in Lake Placid, N.Y., from July 30 through August 7. Joining the Irish are goaltenders Joe Rogers (Marysville, Mich.) and Steven Summerhays (Anchorage, Alaska), defenseman Shayne Taker (Surrey, B.C.) and forward Mike Voran (Livonia, Mich.).

The Notre Dame hockey program announced its individual awards for the 2009-10 season at its annual Awards Program held Sunday afternoon at the Mendoza College of Business Atrium and Auditorium. The end-of-season program also honored the Irish graduating senior class of 2010.

Notre Dame junior defenseman Teddy ;Ruth (Naperville, Ill.) has signed a standard three-year entry-level contract with the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets. The announcement was made by Blue Jacket general manager Scott Howson on April 12. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The awards program will honor the graduating Irish senior class and individual team award winners from the past season. The announcement was made Monday night by Blues' president John Davidson. Cole will report to St. Louis' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Notre Dame hockey senior defenseman Kyle ;Lawson (New Hudson, Mich.) signed a National Hockey League entry-level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday afternoon. The announcement was made by Jason Karmanos, vice-president and assistant general manager of the Hurricanes. Lawson's two-year contract will begin next season (2010-11). He will join the Hurricane's American Hockey League affiliate in Albany, N.Y., for the remainder of the season on an amateur tryout.
