Notre Dame Avoids Sweep, Wins Shootout

Farmington Hills, Mich., Notre Dame came back from a two-goal deficit and won in a shootout to avoid being swept at home by Northern Michigan.
At South Bend, Ind., Notre Dame rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force overtime and then claimed a shootout victory over Northern Michigan. Senior forward Ray Kaunisto and junior forward Jared Brown each scored their second goal of the series, just 42 seconds apart, early in the second period to give the Wildcats the two-goal lead. Sophomore forward Billy Mayday responded with two goals of his own to tie the game for the Irish. Mayday also scored a goal in the shootout, a 2-1 victory for Notre Dame.
