Attracted to Ohio State because of the coaching staff, beautiful campus and facilities and the prestige of playing for a Big Ten Conference university ... introduced to hockey at the age of 4 by his father because it was a family tradition ... favorite player is Chris Pronger because of his style of play: aggressive with great vision ... has worked at a golf course pro shop, but also has experience in construction and landscaping and helped build a hockey arena from the ground up ... an outstanding golfer who won tournaments all over Ontario, he almost gave up hockey to pursue a career in golf but was invited to junior caps and fell back in love with hockey ... Assist vs. Northern Michigan 11/12 for first career point ...14 blocked shots, with 3 at Michigan State 10/20.

Prior to Ohio State: Spent the past two seasons playing for the Powell River Kings in the BCHL, with the Kings winning the BCHL Coastal Conference Championship and reaching the Fred Page Cup finals both years ... received the Top Defenceman Award for the Coastal Conference and was a conference all-star after the 2010-11 campaign and served as an assistant captain ... had 43 points, with 11 goals and 32 assists, his final year after a 10-24-34 line his first season with the Kings ... Armitage Menswear Player of the Month in February 2010... his 2008-09 and 2007-08 seasons were spent with the Brampton Capitals in the OPJHL ... served as a team captain his final year and had 25 assists and 33 points ... in 2007-08, posted four goals, 19 assists and 23 points and was named to the OPJHL Future Stars Prospect Team while serving as an assistant captain ... graduated from St. Benedict High School in 2008 ... also played soccer.
