    Michael Kosta

    Name: Michael Kosta
Age: None of your business (I live in Los Angeles)
Nickname: The Kondor- because of my long reach on the tennis court.
Hometown: Ann Arbor, MI. (Don't hold this against me CCHA teams.)

If I was a hockey player, I would be... The kind of player that scores goals, passes great, plays good defense and goes to the fetal position anytime an opposing player even threatens to check/hit me.
Favorite NHL team? I always grew up a Wings fan. I also like any team that is in Canada because, let's be honest, Canadians are better hockey fans than Americans.
Favorite Episode of All-Access? Just like a parent with a large number of children, they are all my favorite, But if I had to pick one, I would go with the Alaska episode. It was my first time in that part of the world and the whole city was just so excited that anyone from TV would venture up there. I also got to eat moose, caribou and salmon that were hunted by the team. That's pretty cool.
Favorite CCHA Player: You know that I can't answer this one. I've been around a lot of high-level athletes in my day and I honestly find all the players in this league very approachable, very down to earth and really great guys. I've been really impressed with the captains of each team.
Best hockey advice given to you (during All-Access) and by whom? I've received a lot of great hockey advice but the one that sticks out came from Miami's Kevin Roeder when he told me to keep my head up when skating with the puck, otherwise he would crush my face into the boards. I certainly listened to that because that guy hits hard.
What is the highlight of your sports career: Winning four Big Ten Championships for University of Illinois men's tennis team. I don't wear my rings around the hockey players because I don't want them to make fun of me for playing a non-contact sport. I also won four pro doubles tournaments, which I am pretty proud of. Most embarrassing moment of your sports career: Anytime I put on hockey skates. I also once got defaulted for swearing at a tennis line judge - that's not something I'm proud of but I think I earned some hockey players respect.
Where did you perform your first stand-up comedy routine? The Heidelburg restaurant in Ann Arbor, Mich. There were six people in the audience and only one laughed (my sister).
Best Joke: Watch my stand up on my website at www.MichaelKosta.com
Biggest highlight in your career as a comedian: Being asked to perform on Comedy Central's 'Live at Gotham'.
When I'm not at a comedy club or a CCHA shoot, you can find me on the beach in L.A. or a local watering hole enjoying an adult beverage. One thing you learned about hockey since you started hosting All-Access? That there are no two hockey players with the same stick tape job. I can't believe how tremendously specific and unique each athlete's tape job is. I've started doing that with my stick mic.
    Favorite Band: The Beastie Boys
Favorite Movie: The King Kong (documentary about champions of the video game King Kong)
Favorite Sport: Hockey and tennis are tied.
What is the craziest thing you've done on All-Access? Interviewing Father Tom at Notre Dame. I was amazed that I didn't dissolve in thin air the moment I walked in the church. That was my first time talking to a priest and it was cool to see his passion for CCHA hockey, it was cool that he didn't send me to H-E (double hockey sticks) right then and there.
Favorite CCHA member school All-Access location: Each school is so unique and different in its' own way. The only common thread is a very strong passion for hockey. I've enjoyed every school for different reasons.
What other TV shows have you appeared on: Showtime's "Live Nude Comedy" (no I was not nude), NBC's Last Comic Standing, TBS 'Bitcom' series. I also just shot a pilot for show that I created and hosted, hopefully that will get bought and air soon.
What comic (s) do you admire? Gary Shandling, Bill Maher, Don Rickles, Brian Regan and Steve Martin.
In 10 years, I hope to: Be hosting my 12th season of CCHA All-Access as well as my own late night talk show. I'd like to be married and share time between my three homes and four wives.
One thing most people do not know about me is? I'm the youngest of four kids and by far the least funny of all my siblings. If you were CCHA Commissioner for day, my first act would be: Make the players sharpen their own skates just so the equipment managers can get a normal night's rest.
