Trevor Hyatt Named CoSIDA Academic All-American

Senior forward Trevor Hyatt (Anchorage, AK) has been named to the Academic All-American First Team in the At-Large Division by ESPN The Magazine, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Hyatt, who maintained a perfect 4.0 grade-point average all four years, graduated in May with honors from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a degree in civil engineering.

25th Annual IBEW Nanook Scramble Set For June 12

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Athletics will host the 25th Annual IBEW Nanook Fund Golf Scramble on June 12 at the North Star Golf Club. IBEW is in its sixth year as the title sponsor for the tournament, which is the major fundraising event for student-athlete scholarships. Proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit the Alaska Nanooks.

2009-10 Alaska Hockey Schedule Announced

Alaska Nanooks head hockey coach Dallas Ferguson announced the team's 2009-10 schedule today. The program's 31st NCAA hockey season includes 34 Division I games, two preseason tournaments and two exhibition contests. The Nanooks are slated for the NCAA maximum of six non-conference games and 28 Central Collegiate Hockey Association contests.
