Lakers announce 2009-10 hockey schedule

SAULT STE. MARIE - The Lake Superior State hockey team opens 2009-10 season on Oct. 3 with an exhibition game against Nipissing and plays seven of its first nine games at Taffy Abel Arena.

Jeff Jackson to be inducted into LSSU Sports Hall of Fame

SAULT STE. MARIE - Former Lake Superior State hockey coach Jeff Jackson's induction into the LSSU Sports Hall of Fame will be held in conjunction with the annual Soo BlueLiners Golf Outing during the weekend of July 10-11.

Monardo and Radke top off LSSU's hockey recruiting class

SAULT STE. MARIE - Aurora Tigers right wing Domenic Monardo and Traverse City North Stars center Dan Radke have signed National Letters of Intent to play hockey at Lake Superior State, and former Oakville Blades left wing Nick McParland has joined the recruiting class for 2009.

Jim Roque, the ninth head coach in the 42-year history of Laker Hockey, is embarking upon his fourth season. The native of Killarney, Ont., who served for 10 seasons as an assistant coach, is a 1987 graduate of LSSU.
